The RANGE Framework, by Jon Peck, founder of RANGE Hospitality Advisory. Five steps, five documents.
Each step of the RANGE Framework produces one document, and the next step works from it. Each template has two pages: a worksheet for the working, then the one-page document that gets signed and handed on. Fill them in on screen or print them; they are free, with no sign-up.
Not sure where you stand? Take the Scorecard. What you type stays on your device; to print all five, open all five on one page.
The five templates, in order.

How to use them: five rules.
The templates only work in the framework’s order. A sheet filled in out of turn is a guess written down.
- Recognize first, Elevate last. The five steps run in the same order every time.
- One step at a time. A step starts from the document the step before it produced, and from nothing else.
- A step is finished when its test passes, not when the work feels done.
- Every document fits on one page, in writing, read by ownership and operations together.
- Run it again at every opening. Elevate hands the next unit back to Recognize.
